Ceiling Fan Installation

We install ceiling fans throughout homes in Athens, TX and the surrounding areas, ensuring proper electrical connections and secure mounting.

Chapter 01

Why a light-only box can't hold a fan

A ceiling fan isn't a light fixture that happens to spin. It pulls sideways, twists, and rocks the whole box every second it runs. A plain plastic or thin metal box built for a lamp was meant to hold a few pounds still, and over a season or two the screws work loose. That's the wobble you hear at night, and sometimes it's the first sign of a fan that's about to come down.

Older homes around Brownsboro and Frankston are the usual suspects. A fan gets swapped in on a weekend, hung from whatever box the last owner left, and nobody checks what's behind the drywall. If yours clicks, ticks or sways on its downrod, shut it off at the wall and call Justin at (903) 218-3632 before it tells you the hard way.

Fan-rated box, brace, then separate control

Justin starts by opening the ceiling and looking at what the fan will hang from. He swaps in a box rated for fan weight and motion, and where there's attic or joist access he bolts a brace between the framing so the load lands on wood instead of drywall. Then the fan goes up with its own hardware, the blades are checked for level, and it's balanced so it runs quiet.

Wiring is where he separates the work. Fan and light get their own switching when the cable allows it, so you can run the breeze without the glare at midnight. Pull chains are fine, wall controls are better, and he'll tell you which one suits the room. Every splice is tight, capped and tucked into the box, and the fan runs through every speed before he leaves.

Chapter 03

Shop, porch and patio fans, and the warranty behind them

Fans outside or in a metal shop are a different animal. Damp air and dust shorten the life of anything not made for it, so porch and patio fans in Bullard and Chandler need damp-rated fittings and a box sealed against the weather. In a steel building the fan may hang from purlins instead of joists, which changes the support completely. Justin plans that before he climbs the ladder.

Every installation is covered by his five-year labor warranty. If a fan starts to wobble or a control stops answering, that's a call to (903) 218-3632, not something to live with. Ceiling fans are quiet jobs when they're done right, and the honest test is simple: a year from now you shouldn't remember it's up there.

Justin was honest, quick, and just a great experience overall.
